back then gaming magazines used to come CD's with game trailers and game demo. internet was scarce where i live in. that particular month's edition came with everything halo3 and this reveal trailer. I watched this like a 1000 times. The events leading up to this reveal was legendary too with a treasure hunt and cryptic websites that lead to the real life coordinates this the crater that's shown in the trailer which is supposedly was near New mombasa i think.

Those assholes at Paramount really messed up taking Halo away from Neill Blomkamp.

Remeber seeing this trailer on a demo disc that came with the og official xbox magazine.

I feel like Announcment trailers don't even compare to the ones we all had as kids/teens. I was so hyped about this and I didn't even own a 360 at this point when it was announced. State of gaming then was better and for multiple reasons... Games had split screen so if you didn't own an Xbox you could go to your friends house and play it together. Now you both have own the game and console to play through it. Marketing teams actually did their job and made badass commercials that gave you chills. I remember the Halo 3 action figures commercial and getting chills every time it came on You'd get more than 1 entry per console generation so everything you played in the last installment was still fresh in your mind and you had momentum heading into the next title. Competition was qctually competitive. Playstation and Xbox were legit in a battle w/ eachother w/ their announcement trailers and now they take turns destroying eachother.
